History & Tradition
The Turkish Grand Prix™ was a regular fixture on the Formula 1® calendar between 2005 and 2011, quickly earning a reputation as one of the most popular races among drivers and fans. The challenging layout of the Istanbul Park Circuit, in particular, helped establish the event as a modern Formula 1® classic.
Formula 1® returned to Istanbul in 2020 and 2021, reminding the motorsport world of the circuit’s unique qualities and delivering memorable racing action. With the official return of the Turkish Grand Prix™ in 2027, a new chapter begins for a venue renowned for its spectacular races, iconic corners and unforgettable moments.
